Trademark Cross-Validation Now Live for All New Recordals

Every new franchise recordal submitted through CamFranchise is now automatically cross-checked against the DIPR Trademark Register at submission time, rather than manually by a reviewer days into the process.

The validation runs the moment a franchisor confirms their trademark details in the recordal wizard's first step. A conflicting mark is flagged immediately, with a remediation message explaining the overlap, instead of surfacing weeks later as a rejection.

DIPR estimates this removes 5-10 business days from the average recordal timeline, since trademark disputes were previously the most common cause of late-stage revision requests.

The feature is live for all sectors covered under the pilot — food & beverage, retail, and education — and will expand alongside the programme's planned sector rollout.
